To function your body needs FUEL, OXYGEN, and a SPARK (nervous system activation).
The human body has these three basic specific needs to function properly.
Let's compare it to an engine. When top grade fuel is utilized correctly it mixes with oxygen and the spark creates combustion which then converts the energy to motion. When the right maintenance is provided an engine hums and races as needed.
Your body requires the same maintenance, and top grade fuel/food which must be digested and able to be utilized just like your car. The fuel must be digested correctly to get into the blood stream. And the nerve system must have motion/movement, to create the electricial impulses that give the body energy.
To reverse any injury or health condition, these three components must be correctly addressed to bring about a healthy recovery.
A neglected car can eventually be replaced several times in a lifetime, but, this is the only body you will get this lifetime.
IF you don't maintain it, it will give you endless trouble and break down when you can least afford it. It won't have enough power to race you to safety in an emergency. It wont have the stamina to allow you to enjoy simple pleasures like walking, shopping, or dancing. And
eventually it can become a burden and problem for you and those who will need to care for you.
Let's consider your body is an engine. Like a car, it needs the following ...

Bodies need food ...nutrients ... digested and assimilated .
Your body must be able to digest and break down the food you eat, get it into the bloodstream and once in the bloodstream, into the cells to be used as fuel.
If you are not feeling well, improving your body's ability to deliver fuel to the cells and improving the cells ability to use the fuel is the real key to your recovery.
Bodies need plenty of oxygen ... and with aging they do not get enough. Poor posture, stiff ribs constricting breathing, and lack of exercise reduce oxygenation.
Your body gets its oxygen from the air that you breathe. To breathe, our rib cage must expand to take in the oxygen. Our rib cage is made of joints. As we age, our joints are not as mobile and require more effort to move.
Manipulation of the rib joints increases the efficiency of movement of the rib cage. Improving the posture and the tone of the muscles which move the ribs also improves rib exertion and
with no increased effort, allows us to get more oxygen into our lungs. Increased oxygen helps us to burn our fuel more efficiently.
Your nerves and brain create an electrical system that require constant activation and stimulation for healthy function ... your sparkplugs!
The nerve system is
